We customize each experience… options are endless!
DAY 1: Owning your experience
Welcome to The Big Easy! Your guides introduce the Story Approach & Expedition Mentality, and our first nightly reflection circle empowers students to be fully engaged in their experience.
Day 2: FLAVORS and colors OF NEW ORLEANS
Visit The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Institute, where we will enjoy a hands-on cooking lesson. Then meet with a local activist artist and mentor to learn how through his artwork he engages locals in politics, social and environmental issues. Visit the New Orleans Jazz Museum before strolling through the French Market.
Day 3: Service Work: Leaving a Positive Trace
We give back to the community by participating in a service project, working hand in hand with locals to make a positive impact on a school or community. We will still have some free time to explore the French Quarter during the afternoon, and enjoy some beignets and cafe Au Lait at the original and famous Cafe Du Monde coffee stand.
Day 4: Exploring the Cajun Country
A native Cajun Captain, whose backyard are the Bayous of South Louisiana, will take you back to the early days of Louisiana bayou and swamp explorations through the primitive beauty of the moss-draped cypress trees. Keep your eyes open for abundant wildlife, including the American Alligator.
